cuisineartrecipes.com

Hi, I’m David Brooks, the person behind Cuisine Art Recipes. This site started in my own kitchen, not a test studio. I rebuild restaurant dishes I love, using tools most people already own.

Training as a chef never happened for me. What I bring instead is time at the stove, plenty of trial runs, and straight opinions about what actually works.

How a recipe gets here

Every dish on this site goes through several rounds before it gets published. Most recipes see four or five attempts. I change one thing at a time: the cook time, a ratio, or a swapped ingredient.

A recipe only goes live once it holds up on a normal weeknight. Not just on a slow Saturday when I have hours to spare.

Serve

Why copycat recipes

A favorite restaurant closes. A dish gets pulled from the menu. Delivery fees turn a $14 entree into a $26 one by the time it reaches your table.

Moments like that pushed me to start rebuilding meals at home. That habit became this site.

Grocery store ingredients only

I don’t send readers hunting for specialty items they’ll use once and forget. Every recipe here uses ingredients sold at a regular grocery store.

When a specific brand actually changes the result, like a particular chili crisp or curry paste, I name it and explain why. Otherwise, I list a substitution that works just as well.

Finish and Serve

An honest note on results

Restaurants cook with commercial ovens, walk-in coolers, and staff who make one dish hundreds of times a week. A home kitchen can’t match that setup exactly.

So I don’t call these recipes exact copies. I call them close, tested versions built for a normal kitchen.

If a step matters for texture, I explain why instead of just listing it. Letting dough rest 12 minutes instead of skipping it changes the crust, for example.

What I want this site to do

Good food shouldn’t require a culinary degree or a specialty grocery run. A weeknight dinner can taste like something worth ordering out for.

That idea sits behind every recipe I publish here.
